Visual Improvements


I've been working hard to get visibility of tiles in Glyphscape to improve, and one of the most effective ways I have done this is with the addition of background colors on game tiles, and on the map. It's given me a lot more freedom to create pseudosprites by combining different foreground/background combinations that would not have otherwise been possible.

Updated Map with Backgrounds

In other big news, I have ported the game to android, and have chosen to pursue the mobile version of the game exclusively. Many parts of the game had to be rewritten, but the change is certainly worth it. More detail about these changes will be shared in future posts.

Handheld Game UI

The viewport has been almost doubled in size, and a UI-based input was created for the mobile version of the game. Post-processing effects were added in-game to sell the handheld look but will likely be toned down in the future.
