Patch Notes - Version 1.1


Below is a bulleted list of 1.1 features. As you can see it is quite long. I will have a more detailed summary of the changes in the next few days. This is not counting the updates between 1.0 and 1.0.16 that I forgot to post about.

Balance Changes

  • Reduced size of clothes in the Stash
  • Heavy armor and weapons now reduce AP generation.
  • Overhauled Progression

    • Reduced Skill Points awarded on even levels from 2 to 1.
    • Removed artificial caps on AP and Move Speed.
    • Increased STAT requirements on weapons
    • Increased MP/HP per point from 1 to 2
    • Increased Level Cap from 30 to 40
    • Increased Skill Cap from 20 to 30
    • Rebalanced XP awarded from monsters
    • Added XP awards from quests
  • Reworked Class Traits

    • Champions now regenerate HP slowly
    • Cutpurses now strike all adjacent tiles (formerly a Champion trait)
    • All Classes can now sneak (formerly Cutpurse-only)
  • Sneak Overhauled

    • Now displays monster vision separately from player vision
    • Sneak mode no longer ends when a monster spots you
    • Monster vision is limited to monsters that you can see
    • Sneak mode forces a slower movement speed than the default preference
  • Increased rate of lava cooling during rain from 0.1% to 0.5% per step
  • Extra/Reduced damage from weather is now applied per-die, rather than to the total roll
  • Extra/Reduced damage from elemental vulnerability/resistance is now applied per-die, rather than to the total roll
  • Increased maximum allowed effects on weapons and apparel
  • Overhauled the content of all Shops
  • Shops will now periodically restock from a pool of items
  • Reworked tutorial zone monsters and loot placement
  • Potions now deliver a flat +6 STAT points, regardless of duration
  • Increased the range of most ranged attacks

Interface Changes

  • Improved formatting of hover text in lower pane when inspecting tiles.
  • Mouseover for tiles that are out of sight will now show basic information
  • Improved layout of dice rolls and modifiers when calculating damage
  • Added tips for monster info on initiative-tracker hover
  • Added a boss health bar overlay during boss fights
  • Overhauled aesthetics of player status screen
  • Added a glowing highlights layer to lower screen
  • Added an indicator to show that a Dash action is available
  • Improved shop behavior when purchasing items
  • Improved Shop interface layout
  • Added an info message when browsing a closed shop
  • Improved contrast in items menu
  • Added hover highlighting when searching chests
  • Map view now displays the name of the hovered area
  • Improved descriptions for gems to include their coin value
  • Added a Table of Contents to the game handbook menu
  • Improved content and layout of game handbook
  • Improved Death Screen aesthetics
  • Added DEF and ATK previews below equipment art when comparing
  • Improved Main Menu aesthetics
  • Improved Character View screen layout and information

New Content

  • Added Fish food type
  • Fish may be bought from Innkeepers
  • Fish may be bought from Fishermen
  • 50 new pieces of equipment (weapons and armor)
  • Added animations to Monster sprites
  • Greatly Expanded monster variety
  • Added monster challenge ratings
  • Overhauled XP calculations to give an amount per challenge rating
  • Added Steam Achievements for main questline
  • Added new equipment effects:

    • Thorns (reflect damage)
    • Emit Light
    • Empower Element(s)
    • Resist Status Effect(s)
    • Increased Crit Damage
    • Increased Crit Chance
  • Added a shortcut out of the desert
  • Added a shortcut in the Rusted Keep
  • Added several secret paths to the forests in the South.
  • Updated intro splash screen
  • Added an additional method for destroying the grinbriars
  • Cactuses now deal damage

Bugs
Combat

  • Fixed monsters not returning attacks in combat on their turns
  • Fixed monsters only attacking if they start their turn in range
  • Fixed monsters not resetting upon resting
  • Fixed floating/flying monsters being able to fall in holes
  • Fixed multiple monsters or NPCs being able to occupy the same tile
  • Fixed standing on chests and doors preventing monsters from being attacked.
  • Fixed critical hits not being triggered on weapon attacks
  • Fixed enemies being unable to rejoin combat after leaving and re-entering an area
  • Fixed monsters resetting to their initial positions after save+quit and reload
  • Fixed a bug resulting in all monsters respawning if all the monsters in an area are killed
  • Fixed spell attacks only applying 1 damage type
    World
  • Fixed a false exit path out of Ratsearcher's Ascent
  • Fixed some interior stairs which were marked as exterior.
  • Fixed taproot not appearing burnt
    Quests
  • Fixed a broken dialogue path for Varys at Mistwatch
  • Fixed the quest for speaking to the swamp turtle getting stuck in the journal
  • Fixed the Missing Locket quest not advancing after talking with Henri
  • Fixed a broken quest link for Rags' quest
  • Fixed the quest for locating the Turtle in Thorngarden
    Chests
  • Fixed Wine being the only food type that would generate in chests
  • Fixed Copper coins being the only treasure type to generate in chests
  • Fixed a freeze occurring from alternating Search-Chest and View-Stash menus
  • Fixed click-inputs not working when searching chests
  • Fixed second line of item names missing in chests
  • Fixed all chests in an area using the same seed for random contents
    Equipment
  • Fixed a UI issue when no apparel is equipped
  • Fixed a UI issue where the cursor would disappear after clicking off of menus
  • Fixed a soft-lock that could occur if duplicate equipment exists in the Stash.
  • Fixed a slight misalignment of mouse inputs on the equipment menu
  • Fixed coloration on weapons when dropped on the ground
    Items
  • Fixed name-overflow issues in the Items lists
  • Fixed a potions replacing each other in the hotbar when received
    Spells
  • Fixed a bug resulting in XP being rewarded when casting spells.
  • Fixed a UI bug when 6 glyphs are slotted in a spell
    General
  • Fixed an issue where no move delay would apply when moving SE with a wall to the South.
  • Fixed some cut-off text in one of the ending cards
  • Fixed a frame loss issue when many Items are present in an area.
  • Fixed a major visual error that would sometimes occur in the Portal menu
